Methodology of Nuclear Reactor Accident Analysis
원자로 사고해석 방법론
Graduate3 creditsElective major
A graduate course on the concepts and application of safety analysis, built on an understanding of the safety equipment and systems of a pressurised water reactor. Students study the governing equations and numerical methods of the MARS system code, then build inputs of their own, compute accidents, and analyse the results.
How the course runs
01
First half
Safety analysis
- Engineered safety features and systems of a pressurised water reactor
- The concepts and procedures of reactor safety analysis
- What an accident analysis has to answer
02
Second half
Hands-on with MARS
- The governing equations and numerical methods of MARS
- Building an input — from the basics to applied practice
- Running an accident analysis and interpreting the results
- Final presentation
By the end of this course
- 01Understand reactor safety analysis and engineered safety systems.
- 02Learn the underlying theory of MARS and how to use it.
- 03Carry out an accident analysis with MARS.
